Description

Balule Bushveld Safari Lodge is situated in a private nature reserve that forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, near Phalaborwa in the Balule Nature Reserve. There is no fencing between the reserve and the Kruger National Park, allowing wildlife to roam freely. The area is a hub of wildlife tourism and serves as an ideal base from which to explore the Kruger National Park as well as the many natural, historical and cultural attractions nearby.

The lodge can be booked on a self-catering basis or as a full-board option, with a minimum of four guests per stay.

Accommodation comprises 6 separate thatched-roofed units, each sleeping 2 guests, and is ideal for a family or a group of friends seeking a bushveld retreat. Two of the units are furnished with a king-size bed, and 4 units each contain twin single beds. Every unit has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and includes additional comforts such as air-conditioning, ceiling fans, fridges and built-in cupboards. Four of the units can be combined into 2 family units, each consisting of 2 bedrooms with interleading doors, available by prior arrangement.

The free-standing living area, which includes the kitchen, is located separately from the cottages. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with two fridges, a chest freezer, two gas stoves, double ovens, a toaster, a kettle and a dishwasher. The living area offers a TV with DStv, a braai area and two dining tables, while the lounge opens onto a deck that features a boma and overlooks the reserve.

Guests can cool down in the splash pool or enjoy activities such as game drives, game viewing and birdwatching on the property, while day trips to the Kruger National Park can also be arranged.

A daily game drive in an open game-viewing vehicle with a qualified field guide is included for every night booked. Two waterholes near the lodge attract a variety of wildlife throughout the day and night, which can be safely viewed from the deck.
