6/10 – It didn’t quite meet expectations. Pros: Great location – just a 5-minute walk to a quiet, peaceful beach. The 2nd floor/living area has a nice sea view. Cons: The ground level felt cold and lifeless. We didn’t use the space much, especially since we don’t play pool. The first floor had a cold, uninviting feel to it – it lacked the relaxed beach vibe we were hoping for. The dark wood finishes throughout this level contribute to the overall heaviness, and an interior update here might go a long way. On the second floor (main living area), a few kitchen items – such as the pan – are due for replacement. Several of the kitchen cupboards are in poor condition and require repairs. The grey suede couch and ottoman are quite worn. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but compared to other places we've stayed in at a similar price point, we expected a bit more. It feels like the house is used frequently, and the wear and tear is starting to show.

I did try to reach out during your stay, so I'm pleased to receive your thoughts now. I understand that the wood finishes may not be for everyone, but the clear photos of our house should have alerted you to the interior style before booking. And you're absolutely right that the pool table isn't particularly useful if you don't play pool. Yet, it is only an optional extra located on the ground floor, which really isn't meant for general use as it's purely the entrance hall to the house. Regarding the kitchen, there are three frying pans - and we will replace the one that needs it and will look at the small couch too. Thanks again for your review, and I'm glad you enjoyed the peaceful beach location despite these concerns!

Hi Heidi, Apologies for the smell. A few bats gained access to the roof over the master bedroom, and the handyman decided moth balls would clear them. It wasn't meant to work against guests too! Kind regards, Kathryn
