The place itself is decent for budget travel, but the experience was let down by the host and a few practical issues. Negatives: Communication with the host was difficult. They were unresponsive, disengaged, and didn’t seem interested in addressing any concerns. The listing mentioned check-in time between 14:00 and 19:00, but we received a message in the morning saying check-in was only from 16:00. When I questioned this, I was told it was from 14:00—contradicting the earlier message. My poor brother had to wait around unnecessarily until 16:00. It would help to clarify and update the check-in time to avoid this confusion. When we asked about a fridge and microwave, we were initially referred back to the post (which didn’t mention anything). Later, the host confirmed they were available, but in a very cold and indifferent manner. We inquired about crockery and cutlery and were told it was available, but all we found was a single side plate. Even after requesting a bowl, the request was ignored. The host was unwelcoming and made us feel like we were bothering them by asking questions. It left us wondering why they are hosting in the first place. There was constant disturbance from a barking dog, but that was later removed. For ventilation, you're forced to use the sliding door, as the window has something installed underneath that prevents it from opening. The room was very cold, and only a light duvet was provided—not sufficient for the chilly conditions. Suggestions: Hosting should be about putting yourself in your guests’ shoes. It would go a long way to provide at least basic essentials like proper plates, a small bar fridge (especially for longer stays), and sufficient bedding. Imagine staying for two weeks without a fridge—it’s just not practical.
