Description

Birdsong Cottage is nestled into the side of the hill overlooking the forest and the lower reaches of the mountain. The centrally located Champagne Valley is a superb holiday destination situated just 2 hours from Durban and 3 to 4 hours from Johannesburg.

There are 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms. The bedrooms have fans for the summer and radiators for the winter. The dining and lounge areas open onto a large wooden deck overlooking a lake, forest and the rolling hills of the lower Berg. There is a modern kitchen with a gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and fine crockery.

There is a daily cleaning service for guests comfort. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and there is a smart TV in the lounge. During the winter months, the Jetmaster fireplace quickly heats the living area to a cosy level of comfort. There is a back-up solar system to combat the Eskom outages.

During the early mornings and evenings, bushbuck and duiker may be seen from here. Other animals found in the immediate area include serval, porcupine, jackal, baboon, vervet monkeys and several species of mongoose as well as the Cape clawless otter. A nearby Vultures Restaurant ensures frequent overhead sightings of the Cape Vulture.
