Beautiful nature and starry sky. Rest for the soul. We had a great stay, but there were a few niggles: The solar panels are great, but started to scream early Friday night and a little later Saturday night. The most annoying warning sound every hour until the next morning. I suspect the batteries need replacing, because we used the lights minimally, so that leaves only the fridge drawing power.

Brave Hiker! The breathtaking view from the porch, the beautiful hiking trails and the fact that I was able to bring my animal friends made it all worth it. Unfortunately, we struggled with power problems all weekend and also had no hot water for 2 nights. Would I recommend it? Definitely! Just bring enough candles or oil lamps and brace yourself for a cold shower.

Beautiful surroundings and tranquility, but disappointed in the cottage. Good location, beautiful surroundings. The cottage has a lot of potential, but is poorly maintained and needs a lot of attention. Definitely not worth R1,390 per night. Solar system was problematic. We left a day earlier than booked. The ceiling/roof of the porch was covered in bats, so constant fog on the porch. The rest of the wildlife was special to experience.

Most beautiful nature and silence. The only problem was the 10h00 going out, so unfortunately my wife couldn't experience it, because then she would have to sit and wait for 5 hours in another place.

God-believing experience to be so close to your Creator's creation. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control (stormy weather), we were forced to pack up quickly on Sunday evening. There is no cell phone reception and it rained non-stop, so we packed up within an hour and drove back to Cape Town at 7 o'clock Sunday evening. We came back just in time, otherwise we would also have been among the people caught in the floods. We recommend the stay with the greatest boldness if you want to "connect" with God and His creation. Here you can reload for sure. You have the necessary facilities to do what you could do at home when it comes to meals. Everything is there. You don't even miss your luxuries of home. There is a lovely fireplace as well as a gas heater. In the summer there are many more activities to take part in, such as cycling and hiking, as well as admiring the birds and the beautiful vegetation.

Buitestekloof Mountain Cottages exceeded our wildest expectations! In the 2 days we were here, it felt like we were on vacation for a week. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. To become part of nature in this way - palpable silences, the most beautiful bird sounds, rippling water streams, sunsets that are picture-perfect and a starry splendor that is indescribable! The highlight was of course the heated swimming pool! What more do you want now? If your need is to charge batteries, Buitestekloof Mountain Cottages is your answer!

Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Perfect place to go and switch off with a good book. Beautiful location with mountains and fynbos wherever you look. The cottage has everything you need and much more.
