A hidden gem. *A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere*. I'm still pinching myself after experiencing the most incredible getaway at this little slice of heaven. Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, this enchanting retreat is a true gem that shines brightly, waiting to be discovered. The moment I stepped foot on the property, I knew I was in for a treat. The serene surroundings, lush greenery, and warm hospitality all combined to create a sense of tranquility that washed over me like a soothing balm. The attention to detail and care that goes into every aspect of the experience is palpable, from the beautifully appointed accommodations to the delicious, farm-to-table cuisine. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the sense of community and connection that permeates every moment. Whether you're lounging by the pool, exploring the surrounding landscape, or gathering around the campfire for a night of storytelling, you'll feel like you're part of a special, intimate gathering. MIND BLOWING, A MUST VISIT. HOME AWAY FROM HOME indeed. I wanna start with the word WOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a dusty road—which we afterwards didn’t even mind—arriving there was all worth it. From booking through the website and chatting to Jana, it was just a big dream come true. My wife and I love the Porterville, Tulbagh areas because most cottages there have hot tubs. We even got one ourselves now, but that’s a must for us wherever we go. Funky Muis is well-mannered, well looked after, clean, and the house greets you without any host needed. The detail of the place, the little tuck shop (because it's far from town—very good idea, Jana!), we loved the interior decor, ice machine, the king-size bed. OOOOO!!!!!! Too much to mention. THANK YOU, JANA. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!

A slice of heaven. Thank you for a lovely stay at your beautiful, peaceful slice of heaven farm. We went with our couple friends and 2 small kids, and we all thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Our host was attentive, warm and friendly, and we will definitely refer it to others. The Pomegranate festival was the cherry on top, so thanks for sharing that with us. .

As jy wil wegbreek, plaas huisie op sy beste. Wat 'n fantastiese plek. Netheid 110%. Voorbereiding 110%. Alles was op hulle plek, en die vrymoedigheid dat jy weet alles is in orde, is net baie goed ontvang. Dankie baie aan die eienaar. Well gedaan.

A fantastic cottage with really great touches and finishes. The detail never ends. Die Funky Muis is a wonderful gem off the beaten track - perfect for when you want to come in, put your feet up and relax. Everything you need is there and even some items you never realised you needed. Jana was always helpful throughout the trip and has created a great place for the family to come together.
