Beautiful, peaceful and quiet with a lovely view. My husband and I had the best time at Die Ponthuis. It's quiet, peaceful and cozy. Perfect spot to gather your thoughts, relax and fill your cup. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Tranquil. Restorative. A feast for the soul. Magnificent mountains. A riverine setting. Characterful cottage. Abundant birdlife. Glad we went in mid-week winter when we had the place to ourselves. The indoor fireplace was very welcome in the Cape's damp, chilly July.

15 out of 10 - Best anniversary weekend away. Absolutely amazing. The hosts are wonderful people and went out of their way to provide additional wood. The farm is beautiful, fishing in the river was a breeze and the dogs are the most loving animals I have come across in a long time. The bonfire, both inside and outside, was magical and made our stay even more special. Lastly, yes there was the occasional spider/bug inside the cottage which is expected when you stay on a farm! All in all, I will definitely be returning and without a doubt recommend it to anyone looking for a special weekend away. Thanks a lot.

Very quiet and love the dogs that came to visit every now and then. Everything was in order, very quiet and love the dogs that came to visit every now and then. If I could ask for one thing to be fixed/replaced - the braai grid. Also, I felt quite bad leaving the ashes of the inside and outside braai as is. It would be nice if there was a scoop/brush and a steel bin or something where I could do some cleanup. Maybe it's just me, but it would be nice to show some appreciation back. WiFi is not the fastest but very happy that we could communicate while we were there since there is no mobile service for Vodacom or MTN. But the WiFi made up for sharing a few photos of the trip.
