Die Storiekamer is an old workshop and artist’s studio converted into a rustic self-catering unit, located in Kamieskroon, a small town in the heart of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape. It is the ideal stopover for guests travelling long distances from Cape Town or Namibia, or for those simply seeking a peaceful getaway. Kamieskroon lies at the centre of the spectacular Namaqualand flower region, with other flower-viewing areas only 30 to 45 minutes away by car. Die Storiekamer offers cozy, centrally located self-catering accommodation.

The open-plan unit can accommodate 2 guests, furnished with 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. The unit also provides additional bedding for added comfort, along with a heater to keep guests warm.

The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge-freezer, 2-plate stove, toaster, kettle, and microwave. All crockery and cutlery, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities, which include filter coffee, tea, rooibos tea, milk and sugar, are provided. The unit also has a blower heater, fan and hairdryer. Free Wi‑Fi is provided; however, there is no TV available.

Other amenities include a lounge, dining room, books and braai facilities. Parking is available on the premises at Die Storiekamer. The unit is located within a 5-minute walk of the local shops. Guests can also reach a nearby dirt path in under 5 minutes, which winds through natural veld and offers excellent views of Sneeukop and Kardou, 2 prominent peaks in the Kamiesberg. Kamieskroon has very little light pollution, and from the small veranda at Die Storiekamer, the stargazing is truly exceptional.
