Peaceful, scenic, fun. We stayed for 4 nights and Helen was an amazing host. The dogs were so friendly and welcoming on arrival, and it was nice to get the occasional visit from them. I think my absolute favourite part of the fox den is the fact that it's close to where the chickens roam, and it was so nice to just watch and listen to them having their little chats. The property is beautiful, as to be expected in Hogsback. The directions given to us were perfect. When you are there, you have to order the veg lasagna; make sure you are hungry. 100 points.

Cosy and comfortable. Our stay was very comfortable and not at all as cold as I thought it was going to be, given all the stone used in the decor. The Dover stove was a gem and kept the entire place toasty warm.

Great experience. We enjoyed the stay. We just did not realise how far the unit is, how secluded it is, and that it is quite a bad road getting there. Not preferred for small and low cars.

Too eco-friendly to get value for your money. Poor location. Unsuitable for cars. Staying at Eco Fox Den definitely had some highs and lows. It is an eco-friendly, off-the-grid home. Because it uses solar, you are not allowed to use a heater or electric warming blanket, which is unfortunate in such a cold place. Solar also means less warm water on cloudy days - which was not such an issue on our stay but may be on yours. There's a chicken den in front of the house, hence be prepared to be awakened by a rooster in the early hours of the morning. Something that is not shown in the photos is that the host lives above the den (it's a two-story building), so you can hear their movements upstairs and you don't have that much privacy and cannot play loud music without them noticing. The road leading to the den was not ideal for a car - bumpy dirt road. When wet, it becomes very slippery. Be sure to watch the weather before booking. The deck and view made up for everything - absolutely stunning!

Spacious, cosy, great view. Die plek is beautiful. Kon nie genoeg van die view kry nie. Die host het ons selfs gehelp om die vuur aan die gang te kry. Sy was baie vriendelik.

Amazing Awesome, awesome. So bly ek het op die plekkie afgekom. Dit is rustig en so mooi. Helen is baie vriendelik en het ons tuis laat voel.
