Stunning location, but the house needs some serious work. Emafweni is located almost as high in the mountains as it gets and the location is stunning. The terrace is beautiful and the natural shallow pool is a great touch. The layout of the gardens is beautiful. However, the house smells damp and is in quite bad shape and disrepair. Some framing is hanging across the window, the kitchen is old, the main bathroom sinks drain very slowly and smell bad, there is moss on the skylights and many more things would need some love to justify the price. We only stayed one night and it was okay for that. Towels and sheets were clean, it seemed well cleaned, but it seems nothing has been re-invested into the house and it has not been maintained in a long time. If you just need a bed after hiking and want to sit outside it might be for you, but not a place I would want to spend much time inside. It took some time to get a hold of the manager and the first thing I was told was that I had not paid, which was false.
