You'll feel like you've stepped back in time with the charm of Suurbraak. Mark was so warm and welcoming. I was travelling alone and yet I felt so safe and at ease. There were so many generous touches: lovely soap, ground coffee and best of all, a big glass decanter of the most delicious local spring water. I would absolutely recommend a stay at Ernadoon se Plek if you're in Suurbraak.

Pure serenity. Was a lovely stay, just wat was needed.

From the moment you drive into Suurbraak, you experience a deep and restful energy. A place to remember! The little cottage is so beautiful and full of careful touches - you are surrounded by the most breathtaking views and look out over a glorious garden, couldn't recommend this stay more! There are hikes and riding into the mountains and along the river - you can swim in the river and enjoy a smoothie at the local Paradise organic restaurant. The hosts, Mark and Heather, are wonderful and have lovely tips for your stay!

Convenient and more than adequate. I could not find a suitable top sheet for the bed as it was far too warm for any other form of covering. When I needed help to light the gas stove, Heather was immediately available - thank you. The photos of the interior should be updated - the furniture is a bit different.

Everything you need in the heart of Suurbraak. The most helpful host, sweet accommodation and beautiful accommodation. The dogs are friendly, and you can walk down to the river. There was a bit of noise next door but nothing too bad given it was a public holiday. The house is on the main road, so this place is best suited if you need to be in Suurbraak, or if you plan on driving out to the surrounding natural areas. Just what we needed. We have frequented Suurbraak in years before we were married as we have family there. And this was our trip to show our kids the town and sights and nature and also to take our 9 year old spaniel for swims and walks. Heather's garden is beautiful and fully enclosed so our kids could explore while we relaxed having a braai. The town of Suurbraak is specifically out of the hustle and bustle of big towns. Don't expect to buy your luxury groceries within town, you'll need to get those in Swellendam. But the birds and the sounds and fresh air and mountain side, and the river! We remember it from years past, and it didn't disappoint. We will be back soon! Heather and her husband are lovely hosts with 3 friendly dogs of their own and they were so kind to our boys exploring their garden and meeting their chickens!

Mountain magic. Served us well for a weekend away. Great view, friendly hosts and a garden of treasures with easy access to the river and mountain. Lovely reset.

Hospitality outstanding! Hospitality out of this world. Kind, friendly and very helpful. Made our stay much more special especially because we attended my uncle's funeral.
