Grootfontein Gasteplaas is situated on the N1, 32.5 km outside of Richmond and offers convenient overnight accommodation for a family or group of friends travelling between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The accommodation comprises 2 units and 2 rooms to choose from. The 1-Bedroom Family Unit comprises a queen-size bed and a single bed, as well as a bunk bed. It has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. It also features coffee- and tea-making facilities.

The 2-Bedroom Family Unit has a private entrance and the main bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom has 3 single beds. It also features coffee- and tea-making facilities.

Room 3 is private and has a Verandah with a braai area. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. The separate bathroom is also fitted with a shower. The unit features an open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen.

The last unit, Room 4, is private and has a Verandah with a braai area. It comprises 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower while the second bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed. There is a well-equipped kitchen. Guests have access to secure parking and activities such as swimming and walking trails. There is also a play park for children.

The farm features braai facilities for guests' use, as well as a communal swimming pool.

Activities on the farm include walking and mountain biking trails, birdwatching and picnic in the Karoo bushveld.
