Description

Grootfontein Private Nature Reserve is a 600-hectare bushveld farm located 3 hours from Gauteng in the beautiful Limpopo Province, near the eco-tourism town of Thabazimbi. This working family farm welcomes all true lovers of the great African outdoors. It is off-the-grid and uses solar, gas and roaring campfires for hot showers, cooking and Wi-Fi. High clearance vehicles are recommended.

The reserve offers rustic accommodation in a variety of bush lodges that are all unique and perfect for short or long stays. The lodges have small splash pools and are furnished with king-, queen- or double beds and are mostly en-suite. All units contain a kitchenette with a gas fridge/freezer and a complimentary coffee station.

Visitors enjoy tranquillity and a pristine, untouched bushveld landscape that is home to a wide variety of animals, birds and indigenous trees. Since the farm does not offer the Big 5, guests are free to explore the area on foot, per mountain bike or self-drive game drives.
