Gum Tree Glen offers 2 self-catering units set in the blissful ambiance of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Just a stone's throw from Curry's Post and 10 minutes from Howick with its abundant shopping and legendary falls, it overlooks the glorious Karkloof Valley.

Wrinkly Tin Cottage is a delightfully quirky wood and iron cottage, with hotel-quality linen and beds. The cottage comprises 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and the second bedroom with 2 single beds. Both bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.
There is a hospitality-only TV package with limited channels and a sleeper couch.

The self-catering studio flatlet can accommodate 2 adults . The open-plan unit is furnished with a queen-size bed and a pull-out sleeper couch for 2 children only, if necessary. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. The compact kitchenette is equipped with a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, and a TV with selected channels available.

Parking is available on the premises.

The area is a haven for wildlife and guests will enjoy sightings of duiker and reedbuck grazing nearby, hear the call of the fish eagles, and if lucky, spot jackals in the nearby forests. The excellent 9-hole Sakabula Golf Course is close by, as is Bosch Hoek Golf Course. Both are top-class.

The establishment is ideally located at all of the top wedding venues in the area, like Old Halliwell and Cranford Country Lodge, for instance. Guests can enjoy a spot of cycling at the famed Sappi MTB trails in the Karkloof, walk in the area, or explore the Midmar Meander. It is close to Piggly Wiggly and its mini train rides and zip line or the legendary Karkloof Canopy Tours for a family adventure, and is only 10 minutes from Midmar Dam.
