Description

The Highlander Trout Lodge is a working farm nestled in the Hartebeeshoek valley. It offers luxury self-catering accommodation in 3 individually furnished cottages. This is the ideal place for the fly fishing enthusiast or for a peaceful and relaxed getaway. It is only 45 minutes from Pretoria and Johannesburg.

The 3 cottages include the Kingfisher, Trout House and Hartebeest House. Each unit features a lounge with a TV with DStv, a fireplace, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and a private patio with braai facilities. The Kingfisher is situated in a lush garden overlooking trout dams and the hatchery. It can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 3 en-suite bedrooms. The Trout House is situated in a lush garden surrounded by lawns and trees. It can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms. The Hartebeest House is a bush hide away with a thatched roof. It can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms.

All linen and towels are provided and the units are serviced daily.

The Highlander Trout Lodge is known for its excellent but more challenging fly fishing opportunities. It offers 8 still waters of various sizes and approximately 1 km of riverfront. All dams are stocked with rainbow trout. Yellow fish occurs naturally in the dams and river system. Guests can take a stroll along the river bank of the pristine Skeerpoort River with its crystal clear water or have a picnic around the dams or facilities on the riverfront.

The farm is any photographer’s dream. Bird watching and game viewing are also excellent.
