Description

Matopos Cabin is a rock and wood cabin located in the Grootfontein Private Nature Reserve, a 600-hectare bushveld farm just 3 hours from Gauteng and near the eco-tourism town of Thabazimbi. Ideal for nature lovers, this working family farm offers a tranquil escape surrounded by unspoilt landscapes and abundant wildlife. High clearance vehicles are recommended.

The lodge accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, each furnished with a queen-size bed. The main bedroom features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, while the second bathroom, also fitted with a shower, is shared. Warm water is supplied via a gas geyser, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge.

The open-plan living area features comfortable seating, a dining table, and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is well equipped with a bar fridge, stove, and coffee- and tea-making facilities.

Outside, guests can unwind in the splash pool while enjoying mountain views or gather around the fire for a braai under the stars. The reserve offers opportunities for walking, mountain biking, and self-drive game drives, allowing visitors to explore the rich diversity of animals, birdlife, and indigenous flora.
