Description

Melton Wold is a working sheep- and game farm and offers a complete holiday venue, away from the rush of big city life. Established in 1935, it is the oldest guest farm in South Africa.

Accommodation consists of single, double and family rooms and is provided in an enlarged farmhouse, the main part of which dates back to 1889. Most of the rooms have fireplaces. The campsite consists of 10 campsites on grass and each stand has its own electricity, water and braai area. The farm produces its own livestock, especially Karoo lamb and springbuck, and is the foundation of excellent cuisine. We have an attractive ladies bar, The Dear and Pheasant.

Activities on the farm include a playground for children, tennis court, bowling green, swimming pool, walks and cycling, game drives, birding, fossil viewing, visit to the diamond mine and tannery. During the winter family hunts are popular.

We are a venue for weddings, birthday parties and conferences.
