Calling laid back animal and nature lovers! Ons Klein Huisie is located at the foot of the Riviersonderend mountains, in the small rural farming village of Bereaville, a short and scenic 10km drive from Greyton. An ideal retreat for artists, hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, and animal lovers.
One of the original adobe cottages, Ons Klein Huisie comprises of a bedroom furnished with a double bed, and a small loft furnished with a single bed suitable for a child over 10 years. The newly renovated bathroom is fitted with a large shower and basin with hot water. Just behind the cottage is the outhouse with a flushing toilet.
The open-plan living area offers a fully equipped kitchenette fitted with a modern 2-plate gas stove, air fryer, Queen Anne woodstove, and a full-sized fridge-freezer. There is also a comfortable dining area. The living area offers a small couch and reading material next to the woodstove for those cozy nights. There is a desk and chair suitable for working on your laptop or watching a movie. Our resident cats love to visit guests at the cottage.
There is a private braai area with seating that overlooks the valley, and the cottage has a small fenced-in private front garden. There is off-street parking behind locked gates.
Free Wi-Fi is available to guests.
I live next door on the same property, with my dogs, who have access to the whole property, except for the private front garden of the cottage. Our resident cats love to visit guests at the cottage.
Bereaville is a small rural farming village with the main population being coloured descendants of the original families who settled here back in the late 1800s. Everybody knows everybody here in this friendly community. If you are looking for picture-perfect above authentic, and real, this might not be the place for you. Our roads are dirt roads, and sometimes there's a little dust, but rest assured that we give the cottage a thorough cleaning before each guest arrives. Welcome to the simple life.
The nearby village of Greyton is home to a variety of excellent restaurants, charming gift shops, art galleries, and charity shops. Don’t miss the vibrant morning markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and a visit to the Genadendal Museum is also highly recommended.
