Pennygum Country Cottages have some of the most magnificent views in the Southern Drakensberg.

The 4 cottages are set in peaceful, unspoilt and safe surroundings with beautiful grounds, gardens and apple orchards. The cottages are beautifully equipped and most have log fires for winter and DVD players - DVDs can be borrowed free of charge.

All the cottages have braai areas where you can sit out and braai on the Weber braai, enjoy watching the many species of birds or star gazing in a sky with virtually no light pollution. The gardens have many shady trees to sit under in the heat of the day and there is a splash pool in season.

In season we offer river rafting and tubing on site and we can arrange riding or Sani Pass trips to nearby Lesotho. Pennygum is an outstanding base - just 6.4 km from Underberg, in which to explore the surround area and world heritage site.

Hlogoma Cottage is a thatched 'honeymoon' rondavel which sleeps 2 people - a Queen bed, fireplace, 2 bathrooms and full kitchen as well as outdoor seating area and stunning views.

Sangwana Cottage has 1 double en-suite, a full kitchen and lounge with a lovely, closed combustion wood burning fire place and outdoor seating area and also has wonderful views

Mvuleni Cottage is beautifully equipped with wonderful views and a lovely outdoor/ braai area with shady trees - it has 1 King XL, 1 double and a twin bedroom and 2 bathrooms. It has a log fire place and lovely kitchen with a range stove and separate dinning area

Our Siphongweni Cottage sleeps 10 - 1 Queen, 2 doubles and 4 singles in a double story cottage - it has its own gardens and drive and full kitchen, fireplace, 2 bathrooms and wonderful verandah overlooking the mountains

Cottages are serviced daily and meals can be prepared to order but must have 24 hours notice - menus available on request.
