5/5 stars – A perfect 40th birthday getaway at Rainfall Chalet! My girlfriend and I spent the weekend of October 19–21, 2025, at Rainfall Chalet in Harrismith, KZN, celebrating my 40th birthday, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning location right on the edge of the dam—the views are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The chalet itself is immaculately clean, cozy, and feels like a luxurious home away from home. Communication and service were exceptional. The team was responsive, friendly, and went above and beyond. A special shoutout to the ladies (cleaners) who welcomed us with warm smiles and made sure everything was perfect—they truly set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The chalet is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need—and I mean everything. High-quality linens, a well-stocked kitchen, cozy fireplace, fast Wi-Fi, and thoughtful touches like board games and a braai area. We didn’t want for a single thing. We left feeling relaxed, recharged, and already planning our return trip next year. We’ve raved about Rainfall Chalet to all our friends and colleagues—highly recommend for couples, families, or anyone craving a peaceful, scenic escape. Thank you for making my 40th so special!

Home away from home! Rainfall Waterfront Chalet is the perfect combination of luxury and comfort. Its beautiful, peaceful and private location provides an ideal escape from the hustle of Johannesburg. Ilize was a wonderful and attentive host, and went out of her way to make our anniversary memorable. We loved our stay here!

Amazing and beautiful in touch with nature. This is a perfect romantic getaway. The host was friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more perfect with her extra touches; she is such an amazing soul. Pictures do not do justice. You have to visit this place. We would highly recommend this establishment if you are looking to get away from the city.
