We had a wonderful stay! What a beautiful little cottage in the heart of Wakkerstroom! We fell in love with it. Beautifully furnished and within easy walking distance to the main street of the town. Wakkerstroom is truly a hidden gem.

Nice cottage but damp and mouldy and an awful night - not nice here! I was sadly disappointed. The cottage is really charming, comfy and neat, but on arrival we immediately picked up on the damp, mouldy smell from the entrance throughout the cottage, and we endured it the whole night. We all coughed and sneezed throughout. Then came night for a 'lekker slaap', but we were kept awake all night by the feather farm of geese, ducks, guinea fowl, peacocks, turkeys and lots of chickens that never rest! To compound the issue, there are three or more very, very bright sensor lights that light up the inside of the cottage. These lights went on and off all night — I suspect they add to the animals’ unrest and shuffling. The sounds are overwhelming. I went out at 1 am to see if I could at least turn off the sensor lights — nope! Bottom line is that the owners need to choose between the feather coop or their cottage hire — the two CANNOT co-exist! We left early the next morning despite having booked two nights, and found another wonderful cottage and met so many wonderful people, including our fruitful meeting with an estate agent! Wakkerstroom is so much better. Sorry, I will NOT give this place a thumbs up! It is the total opposite of what the website represents. They omit the fact that the cottage is part of the coop — they are at your windows, on the roof and poop all around!

Baie lekker gebly. Niks om te kritiseer nie. Ons het baie lekker gebly. It is very cosy and warm. Love the old furniture and decor. All was very neat and tidy. With a lekker patio. The cats were very friendly. The outside is nicely done. A really nice place to visit. Love the towels and electric blankets.

Very comfortable cute cottage, perfect for a quick getaway. Lovely little cottage, very accommodating hosts!
