Skuitbaai is tranquil -- SaltLife however requires some TLC. Amazing views of the ocean from the property. The sunsets were spectacular. We had some deer visit us on the property, which was a bonus to our stay. However, the access road to the property was not great. The gravel road to the estate is poorly maintained and is better suited to 4x4 vehicles. We opted to stay on the grounds on one of our days as we had no desire to trek back and forth on that road. The house itself was not properly cleaned on our arrival. The kitchen cupboards were musty, so I could not store my foodstuffs in them. One of the showers had the previous visitor's hair still in the drain. The bathroom taps look like they've never been cleaned - grimy and moldy. There were spiders and cobwebs in all bedrooms. Not all doors and windows could close properly, which made us feel unsafe. There was no grate over the ditch in front of the garage doors, which made it impossible to park the vehicles inside the garage.

Thanks for the feedback, Nikki. We will pay attention to the items that are within our power to improve. The ditch has been newly installed for storm water and is already being covered. We are not sure which doors/windows you are referring to and have requested that maintenance check all of them. We are aware of the guest bathroom's faucet which has weathered due to the sea air and will be replaced. It also looks like we need to exchange a word or two with our cleaning services. The sunsets and sea view are definitely something to experience in Skuitbaai!
