A hidden gem in the wild and surprisingly well-kept roads. Tucked away in the remote vastness of the (Ai-)Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, Tatasberg Wilderness Camp is truly a jewel in the middle of nowhere. This hidden gem offers an unforgettable escape into nature without compromising on comfort. The setting is nothing short of spectacular – rugged mountains, endless silence, and a river view that feels like a private window into the soul of the desert. The chalets are beautifully constructed from wood and stone, blending perfectly into the landscape. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly staff member, who took the time to explain everything in detail – from how the solar power works to helpful tips on water usage and staying safe in the wild. Their professionalism and hospitality set the tone for a relaxing and well-prepared stay. Each unit had everything we needed: clean and crisp bedding, a fully equipped kitchen, and even hot water – a real luxury in such an isolated setting. Whether you're cooking dinner on the gas stove, enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck, or simply listening to the Orange River flow below, Tatasberg provides a rare kind of peace that’s hard to put into words. Highly recommended for those looking to disconnect and rediscover nature in its purest form. Just be ready for the long drive in – it's part of the adventure and absolutely worth it.

Dit was 'n onvergeetlike, baie waaghalsige avontuur. Ek sal aanraai dat toeriste in die park genoeg spaar onderdele vat. Bande, batterye ens. Ry met die regte soort voertuig. Die paaie is rof. Maar jy gaan 'n wonderlike tyd daar beleef!
