Description

Shondoro Mountain Retreat is situated in Vaalwater and offers 2–3 rustic stone and thatched cottages on a 144-hectare bushveld farm in the malaria-free Waterberg Mountains. The property is open to the public for bookings from Sunday to Thursday, and on Friday until 17:00 for the wellness products store. Saturdays are unavailable for bookings, although a 50% discount is offered on a minimum 2-night stay. Guests checking in on Friday should arrive before 16:00.

Reedbuck Cottage has 2 bedrooms and accommodates up to 4 guests. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed and air-conditioning, while the second room has 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge, oven and stove combination, and microwave. The unit also has a private braai boma, and complimentary tea- and coffee-making facilities, linen, and towels are provided.

Klipspringer Cottage features a bedroom with a king-size bed and air-conditioning, with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. The unit has a fully equipped outside kitchen with a fridge, oven and stove combination, toaster, cutlery, crockery, kettle, and complimentary tea- and coffee-making facilities. There is also a private braai boma, with towels and linen supplied.

Guests can enjoy a communal swimming pool overlooking the mountains, as well as numerous walking, mountain biking, farm, and nature trails suitable for novice and advanced riders. Shondoro Mountain Retreat provides peace, tranquillity, excellent birdwatching, and unique tree spotting. The property is accessible by sedans, though a high-clearance vehicle such as an SUV is preferred.
