Would love to go back in summer. This is a spectacular setting! Simonstown views is so generously equipped it's as if you are living in someone's private home. Attention to detail has been paid to provide anything you may need. Upon arrival, a complimentary bottle of wine, milk in the fridge, coffee, tea, and rusks awaited us. A comprehensive document with details of the house, restaurants, and attractions has been compiled to make life easier. The hosts live next door and are charming and extremely helpful. We struggled with the TV, perhaps because of our age, but they helped us each time to get it back on. Decor is cosy and artwork is delightful with some special antique pieces. The view is indescribably magnificent and at night a fairyland of lights. We were disappointed that the fireplace is no longer operational; however, a patio gas heater is available but it's rather large and odd in a lounge. As mentioned in the description, the indoor staircase is steep but manageable. We did find it wasn't possible to walk to the village as the property is located at the top of the hill, plus we visited in winter and encountered a cold spell. A holiday in summer would be bliss. Also, you do need GPS for directions as the Simonstown roads are a bit tricky. We eventually found our way, but it took a while.
