Description

Syringa Sands Forest Cottage is located on the Kransberg plateau in the malaria-free Waterberg region of Limpopo. Ideally positioned halfway between Vaalwater and Thabazimbi, it lies just 38 km from the Marakele National Park gate and 14 km from the Welgevonden South Gate and Kololo Lodge. This cottage is a perfect retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Nestled within a tranquil forest setting, the self-catering cottage accommodates up to 4 guests. It features 2 bedrooms, each furnished with a queen-size bed and a single bed, ideal for guests who prefer separate sleeping arrangements. One of the bedrooms includes a small desk, suitable for work or study.

The open-plan living area and kitchen open onto a covered verandah. The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The lounge boasts a large fireplace and 2 daybeds, perfect for relaxed afternoons. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet, and there is a utility area with a washing machine for added convenience.

The game farm offers a peaceful escape and the opportunity to disconnect. However, for those needing to stay connected, 4 Mbps airfibre internet is available. Guests must bring their own devices and chargers.

The eco-friendly Forest Cottage is fully off the grid and powered by solar energy. While the system is reliable, guests are kindly advised to use appliances in sequence rather than simultaneously. A gas stove is provided for cooking.

An outdoor braai area provides the perfect spot to unwind with sundowners and enjoy a traditional South African braai. Wildlife such as kudu, eland, zebra, and giraffe roam freely on the farm, and the nearby wetland is a great location for birdwatching.

Guests are welcome to explore the property on foot or by mountain bike. Game drives can be arranged on request. On-site parking is available at the workshop, which adjoins the rear of the cottage. Guests are kindly reminded to bring their own firewood or briquettes, as well as drinking water.
