What a delight! Truly in the 'middle of nowhere'. Complete sensory rest. My only recommendation would be to plan your route to the cottage well in advance. We did not check the GPS and it wanted to take us through private farms with closed gates.

Magical, breathtaking, refreshing. Absolutely beautiful spot in the middle of the Karoo! Very isolated and peaceful, the perfect getaway from the city where you can reconnect with nature and the outdoors. The cottage is comfortable and has all the basics you need for self-catering. Megan was a wonderful host and kept in touch with us, even popping by on her way to town to find out if we needed anything.

A sublime slice of Karoo bliss. Six nights did not feel like enough time to get our fill of the beautiful surroundings. Definitely a great spot to get away from the rat race and enjoy wide open spaces with only birdsong and sheep bleats as the soundtrack - glorious! The cottage is equipped with everything you need to kick back and relax. Definitely keen to visit again and explore more of the trails by mountain bike.

Nature lovers paradise and food for the soul. Beautiful setting and great host! We had the best time! The location is wonderful - on the doorstep of the Tankwa National Park with a beautiful landscape around the cottage itself. A picnic at the dam below is a must as it is tranquil and a lovely spot to watch birds. In general, just a paradise for nature lovers as there are so many beautiful flowers and other flora. We loved the cottage, which is simple but with lots of character and charm. One has everything for a complete break from all the city's noise. Our hostess could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, and her brownies are a must-have. Tankwa Cottage is a special place and one we will definitely return to. PS. Great WiFi.

Peaceful, remote and relaxing stay! We had a great stay! The views are wonderful from every room. Nice and spacious cottage, very well equipped. Our host was very attentive and provided us with wood for a lovely fire on a chilly evening.

Tranquil, charming, well-equipped house with beautiful sights. We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was charming, and we appreciated the fact that there was a bag of wood for the fireplace. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the WiFi was surprisingly fast and reliable for such a remote area. The house is also at an ideal location for watching the stars - this is the reason we stayed at the Tankwa cottage, and we were not disappointed! I would love to visit again, and can highly recommend the Tankwa cottage!
