Uitstekend, awesome, beste. Ons het die verblyf by Bietjiedam terdee geniet. Alles was 110% gereed en netjies, selfs die water in die Hot Tub was warm met ons aankoms. Daar is absoluut aan alles gedink wat die uitleg en toerusting betref. Dit is meer as 'n huis weg van die huis. Sou dit sommer 'n permanente verblyf wou maak. Die vis het glad nie teleurgestel nie en 'n paar mooi karps was gevang (en tereggesit). Ons besoek Bietjiedam beslis gou weer.

Luxury on the river bank. Lovely stay, even with colder weather. The view and space are so peaceful and comfortable. Nature meets practical luxury.

Incredible gem 90 minutes from Cape Town. We had a wonderful stay at The Barn. We travelled with two kids aged 4 and 7. We left Cape Town on the Friday afternoon, travelling via Franschhoek to Caledon, which was beautiful. We left after work and arrived at The Barn around 6:30 pm. We had told the host of our arrival time and asked that the hot tub be ready when we arrived. The Barn is an amazing stay and we would definitely recommend it. The place has two beautiful bedrooms en-suite. It included everything we could possibly need, i.e. air fryer, microwave, gas stove. The kitchen is very well kitted, with mixing bowls, good pots/pans, lovely cutlery, and the wine glasses (and overall glass selection) were amazing. No point drinking good wine out of a thick-rimmed glass. We were also especially pleased that there was a full complement of crockery (plates etc.) for the kids made of plastic (but also beautiful). It means we could set the table (it looking beautiful) and not worry about them breaking anything. Inside is a lovely fireplace and comfy couches. My daughter loved the little window seat to read her book. The hot tub is extremely comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and we were especially blessed to see the two kingfishers around the dam and hear them call to each other. Furthermore, The Barn is only 20 to 25 minutes from great wine farms in the Hemel and Aarde Valley. We visited both Ataraxia and Creation, and it was great to only have a 20-minute drive home. I cannot compliment The Barn enough. We will most certainly be back. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay. It was really perfection! P.S. We also pre-organised extra wood with the host - lovely big bags - definitely worth it.

Magical! Our stay at the barn was nothing short of spectacular. The barn was very well equipped, spacious enough for a family of 4. The outside deck area with the built-in braai and hot tub were the stars of the show! Oh, and the canoeing on the dam was so much fun! Check-in was a breeze, and getting to the site was easy. Also, hats off to the host - always available on call. Will definitely be back here!

Posh but homely pod by the water with gorgeous views. Loved by our whole family! Our stay was fantastic! Our teenage boys loved the pod vibe and hot tub. The Barn was super clean and beautifully decorated. Felt like a little fancy Scandinavian hotel by the water.

Peace and tranquility. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable 3-night stay. My teen boys loved the fishing, kayaking, going for a run, and having space to kick a ball around, as well as the lovely relaxing hot tub with the most amazing view. We loved watching the zip line in the distance. Green fields and yellow canola flowers. The place is equipped with everything one needs. Would love to return.

Truly a tastefully kitted gem of a spot that it is. Absolutely spectacular. Everything you need for your stay is there. The team are rockstars, always available if you ever need anything, especially wood or have questions. The quality of kitchenware is superb given the location. No thick-rimmed, Spur wine type whisky or wine glasses, love it. Every surface is cosy and comfortable and makes you want to stay. Really well thought out. Serene in every sense. Two nights there felt like a week away from the hustle and bustle. A perfect getaway and will definitely be back.

Blissful weekend away! We simply loved The Barn! The pod is comfortable, luxurious, homely and your every need is provided for. The best part is waking up to those gorgeous mountain views. Plenty of farm roads to explore on foot or mountain bike, we kayaked in the dam and kicked a ball around on the lawns. The hot tub is a winner! And there's a fireplace inside for those chilly evenings when you want to snuggle up with a book. The location is perfect for a quick weekend getaway - only 1.5 hours from Cape Town, and close to the N2. Thank you, Cassandra and team - we'll be back!

We’ll definitely be back — highly recommended! We spent the weekend at The Barn @ Bietjiedam and absolutely loved it. The setting is peaceful and beautifully maintained — surrounded by nature with farm-style charm. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were welcoming and made us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed the quiet evenings, the beautiful views, and just being able to unwind away from the city. It’s the perfect spot for couples or families looking to recharge and enjoy a bit of tranquility.
