A blissful stay in beautiful surroundings! We stayed for 3 nights as a family of four and enjoyed every moment! We've stayed at The House on the Hill before, so it felt like returning to see an old friend. The house has everything you need and more; the decor is eclectic and warm, and it's perfect for a peaceful, family-friendly escape! We had amazing weather and enjoyed the pool in the afternoons and the front porch for morning coffee. There were loads of mozzies, so we were very happy that each bed has a mosquito net, and the owners have thoughtfully provided mosquito repellent and plug-ins for the bedrooms. They also left us a lovely bottle of wine, which we thoroughly enjoyed while watching the sunset over the mountains! Wish we could've stayed another night! Will definitely return!

A delightful, comfortable 1860 farmhouse full of character and charm. We visit McGregor regularly, probably 6 or 7 times a year for the past 10 years, and this is the most delightful, comfortable home full of character that we have ever rented. It is an authentic historic 1860 farm cottage - with a large garden, pool and beautiful old gypsy caravan to add to the pleasure of those lucky enough to stay there.

Very pleasant stay on the edge of town. Quirky and comfortable. We had a very happy stay at The House on the Hill. It is a quirky arty historical cottage with an old world feel. Front and back stoeps, peaceful and secluded. Small plunge pool for hot lazy afternoons. Wonderful friendly service and a complimentary bottle of wine. Will definitely be back.

Most enjoyable. Great value for money. Owners have thought of everything. Loved the bath soak! We will be back when we can stay longer.
