Description

Uitzicht Private Game Reserve and Lodge is a private game reserve situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State, 350 kilometres from Johannesburg and just 12 kilometres outside Fouriesburg and 40 km from Clarens. The lodge offers incredible views of the Maluti Mountains and is home to over 16 different wildlife species.

The lodge provides a range of accommodation options, from self-catering units to luxury rooms. At the main lodge, there is a bar area overlooking a swimming pool and Lapa. This area offers breathtaking views of the Maluti Mountain range.

The game lodge also offers a wedding and conference venue. This modern venue hall can accommodate up to 120 wedding guests and 120 conference guests. There are nature hikes around the farm, where guests can choose between two hiking trails: one 18 kilometres long and the other 9 kilometres, both offering excellent views.

There are several attractions in and around the Fouriesburg area. Guests can visit the beautiful town of Clarens, known as 'the jewel of the Free State,' which can be described as a large open-plan shopping mall for art lovers. Golden Gate offers breathtaking views, horse riding, and is home to over 100 bird species. Guests can also visit the Basotho Cultural Village.

The Katse Dam, located not far from the lodge, is the second-largest dam in Africa. It is part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project and is truly a breathtaking sight to see. The Afri-Ski Resort, located 67 km away in Lesotho, offers guests the opportunity to visit for a day trip. Snow skiing is extremely popular in winter, but please note that a passport is required for entry. There are also several golf and bowls courses in and around the Fouriesburg area.
