The perfect hideaway if you're seeking a tranquil getaway in nature. It was peaceful, quiet, which is just what we needed. The location is perfect and very easy to find. Tucked away, hidden from the hustle and bustle of city life and only a stone's throw away from Cape Town. The accommodation was a cosy 2-bed cottage with amazing views from the second bedroom. The host was very accommodating by allowing a late checkout. The fireplace was well positioned to warm up the whole place, making it very cosy. We enjoyed waking up to the flowing of the river and the birds chirping. We will definitely be back soon. A bonus is that it's pet friendly.

A magical spot on the river bank for us and our dogs. Julian was amazing and the venue is quite magical. Small Tolkien touches in things like stained glass windows added to the Hobbit Hollow mystique. We were there at the end of summer and the river was dry, but a visit in spring when the Bot River is flowing will take the experience up a notch. We had our dogs with us and the place was perfectly secured for our peace of mind. The local dogs put our dogs fully at ease when they popped across to visit and say hi.

Peaceful and relaxing. We had the best time having our morning coffee under the trees by the river, spending time outdoors with our dogs and relaxing by the fire.

Relax in nature. The nature is breathtaking and the peaceful surroundings made us all relax. The boys really enjoyed it and bravely tried to play in the river and stream – even if it was a little cold! It was a special weekend full of fun and beautiful memories. We will definitely book again.

Overall stay was amazing. Will be back in winter with candles! The location is fantastic. We booked the main house (Earthship) and we loved the rustic setting and spent our evenings in the hot tub. There's even a wine tasting farm nearby. We took our beagle with us on the Saturday and he relaxed on the balcony and enjoyed the view while we sipped on our wine. The owner was very quick to make sure we had enough water after the tanks ran dry. All amenities were in the kitchen. We had a "pizza night" on the Friday after we arrived using the cute pizza oven provided. The dog had the best time ever exploring and met up with his friends for a sniff during the day. A few things that need to be addressed (minor): 1. The toilet in the first bedroom did not flush properly. We kept having to lift the cistern lid to connect the plastic rod so that it could flush. 2. Check the bedside table globes. 3. Our power went out at around 9pm, so we ate dinner in the dark with our phone torches. We were looking forward to spending a long night outdoors, but our phones were dying. (It was dark out there.) No power is OK, but ensure that there are candles or torches if this happens. 4. No power also meant no WiFi.

Hi Carmelita, many thanks for the lovely review. We have fixed the toilet and regularly check that the lights are all working. With regards to the power going out, that was, I hope, a once-off. We have a large battery backup, and the power to your cottage unfortunately tripped in the workshop. I am very sorry about this. Julian

Absolutely amazing! Our stay at Underhill Farm was amazing. It had beautiful views, kick-ass Jacuzzi, a cozy feel and great service from the host! We will definitely be going again.
