"Die kuslyn/strand is baie vol rommel na beide kante toe vanaf die hoofstrand, veral as gevolg van verlede jaar se vloed. By die twee swemareas was die kuslyn skoner, alhoewel die seewater by swemareas was sommige dae baie vuil met van die rommel wat terugspoel en weer uitspoel. Die seewater was nie so baie higiënies nie, van ons gesin het erg siek geword. Die wandelpaadjie was 'n groot pluspunt, ons kon lekker stap en het die roete elke dag baie geniet. Die restaurante by Umhlanga Sands vir die publiek is baie gerieflik en ons het dit gereeld benut. Die Oceans en Pearls Mall was ons gunsteling inkopiesentrums."
