Ideale verblyf langs die kus. Heerlik gebly. Puik kliëntediens. Was baie behulpsaam toe ons met hulle reël om te braai. Ons het baie van al die vriendelike honde en kat gehou.

Luxurious and well priced! The presentation of the house upon arrival was really good and the spacious room exceeded all expectations. There's private beach access, and a very nice pool to relax next to in the tropical surroundings. This is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Umhlanga which is very well priced for the central location and high-end look and feel. The breakfast was very generous, and when we asked for a late check-out due to our late flight, the owner was very willing to accommodate us. Some positive criticism; some of the fittings like bathroom taps were corroded around the base and needed replacement, and shower tiles and grouting needed a thorough cleaning. The TV wall mounting and cables had a thick layer of mould which was very visible and needed cleaning. We didn't feel safe at night in such a huge house all alone with all the doors in the house and that of the vacant rooms being left wide open, so I went around and closed as many as I could. Bedside plug points for device charging would be nice too. Overall these are not deal-breakers, but it seemed like the person responsible for oversight of these small things wasn't doing their job.

Thank you for your review and constructive criticism, Kobus. Your positive input is appreciated. On the negative side, we will look into the mould on the TV cables, but due to the corrosion on the taps etc in the bathroom from the salt air, it is not feasible to continually replace them. There is continuous maintenance required here in KZN on the coast. If I recall, your booking was for a single in one of our standard suites, and I upgraded you to one of our larger suites as you were accompanied by your wife. We accommodated you at no extra cost nor charged for double occupancy or late afternoon checkout. Sorry you did not feel safe at the Guest House. We have security cameras monitoring the premises 24/7, with an electric fence that is linked to a reputable security company in the area. We had other guests staying here at the time, and the owner's family and one staff member live permanently on the premises; you were not alone, as there were 7 other people here on the night of the 27th of June. All our unoccupied rooms are left open during the day to air, as unfortunately, being on the coast, the humidity is very high, resulting in very damp conditions. Thank you for closing the rooms, but the staff lock every room at night, and all keys are securely locked away. All the outside doors leading into the main area of the Guest House are locked between 9 and 10 pm, including a security gate at the front door to the Guest House, which works on a code system to gain access. Unless guests leave their doors open to their individual suites, there should be no access to the main house at night. I will personally be looking into the various other aspects mentioned to ensure that future guests enjoy their stay at Cowrie Cove. Regards, Caroline Swart - Owner.

Sedert my laaste besoek het die gastehuis baie agteruit gegaan. Geen swemhanddoeke soos hulle onderneem het nie. Geen gebottelde water in eie en kommunale yskaste nie.

Good afternoon Heinrich, Thank you for your positive feedback. Firstly, we no longer keep bottled water in the mini bar fridge as with the current condition of drinking water in Ethekweni we now supply a water fountain with filtered water free of charge to the guests which are available 24/7. Glasses and takeaway paper cups are available in the unit. Towels are always available in the Gazebo and may have been used by the other guests if you had asked the staff or myself, who are on duty until 20:00, we would have readily supplied the towels to you. Dit was die beste verblyf nog. Baie lekker gebly, als was die beste en veral omdat daar toegang na die strand is van die huis. Om in oggend langs see te stap en sonsopkoms te kan kyk is die beste.

Fantasmagories. Waar om te begin? Gashere en personeel was ongelooflik vriendelik en behulpsaam. Kamers uit die boonste rakke. Die badkamers is 'n ervaring op sy eie. Mens gaan baie ver soek vir beter! Beslis vyf-ster.

Kamers baie modern en skoon. Die verblyf het gevoel soos 'n huis weg van jou huis af. Personeel baie bekwaam en vriendelik. Die ontbyt was heerlik met 'n groot verskeidenheid van geregte.
