What an absolutely pleasant surprise iZapa was, so quiet and peaceful. Absolutely excellent, what a paradise so close to the city. From the moment we arrived, until we drove away, we were treated with nothing but the utmost respect. Thank you for making it so special for us, you are an asset. The staff behind the scenes absolutely did their part too, thank you to you too. The meals were top notch, and attention was paid to the food request. See you again soon.

A perfect getaway with incredible service. We had an amazing time. The rooms were perfect for us, the reception facilities were amazing and the service great. All the meals were sit down and were amazing. The team at iZapa were friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed it so much. We were treated like royalty. We will make this an annual adventure for sure.

Fantastic stay at Izapa! Highly recommended. Absolutely loved my weekend getaway at Izapa! The serene ambiance and stunning natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The accommodation was cozy and well-appointed, making me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, offering personalised touches that made our stay even more special. However, be prepared to be disconnected from the world, as the cell reception is pretty much non-existent. From morning hikes, outdoor showers, sunset views, to delicious meals, every moment was a delight. I can’t recommend Izapa enough for anyone looking to recharge and enjoy some peace in nature. Weekend getaway not too far from Joburg. The chalet was super clean! We did however miss a little fridge and a hairdryer. There is no cell reception or WiFi in the rooms, just be aware of that.

It was an okay stay. My husband and I enjoyed the stay. The only issues we had were the bed in our room and the watered down Jägermeister that we were served. We were supposed to have a king bed, but had two different single beds pushed up against each other, which has now caused my husband and me to visit the chiropractor as our backs hurt. I really didn't sleep well and feel this needs to be addressed.

Greetings Megan and thanks for reaching out. We apologise for the inconveniences caused. We are all surprised by the water mentioned in the Jagermeister. Our barman is very experienced (Dan); he has never done that before, and we are not sure what could have happened. Regarding the beds, this is my very first time receiving such a complaint, and yes, we do make up our king beds with two singles. For years, Izapa has been operating like that, and many more lodges we are aware of do the same. We have taken note of what you went through, and it will help us going forward. We truly wish you could have told us onsite about the issues encountered.

Disappointing. The stand-alones did not have any fridges in them except for one unit. Some of the taps in the bathrooms were not working. The first unit we were in before we were moved had no working DStv decoder, fridge and there was no WiFi (we were told they only have it by reception and not in the rooms). They further moved us to another unit; the furniture on the patio was heavily worn and the bathroom tap (for the bathtub) for cold water wasn't working. The pool was very dirty and there aren't any visible lights at night in the pool for safety reasons. The food was expensive and the breakfast was worse as the portion they served was not even a kid's portion. The disappointing part was on the last day when we had dinner; we told the host at check-out we were not buying breakfast and opted to explore our options elsewhere as we were not getting any value for money. She went to the kitchen and was bad-mouthing us. It left a very sour taste.

Dear Oarabile, Thanks for your comment and we apologise for the inconveniences caused. Izapa Bush and Game Lodge is not a self-catering place, hence no fridges in the rooms. We do, however, take self-catering when clients insist. Our breakfast is a full English breakfast at R250 and a three-course meal dinner at R300. All these prices were shared with you the day before your check-in at Izapa. As for our pool, it's not dirty; it has the natural bush colours inside. The DSTV issue is due to baboons in the bush, and unfortunately, they have a tendency to disturb the signals.
