Description

The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is a charming and elegant tented retreat situated along the picturesque Namaqua coastline, just 1 km north of the Groenrivier entrance to the Namaqua National Park. This camp is open during the flower season, when the typically arid region undergoes an extraordinary floral transformation due to the seasonal winter rains over the west coast and interior, creating one of the world's most stunning floral displays.

The camp accommodates up to 30 guests in 15 private luxury suites, each offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean from a private verandah. These sturdy canvas tents are comfortably furnished and blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, featuring gauze sashes on the windows for added comfort. Each suite includes a queen-size bed that can be converted to twin beds, adorned with white cotton linen, comfortable pillows, warm duvets, and a spacious dressing area. Every tent is fully en-suite with a hot bucket shower, chemical toilet, washbasin, and towels. Shower gel and shampoo are provided, with hot water heated by a wood-burning donkey system and showers filled by the staff. Electric blankets are available, and a hairdryer can be requested. A tea and coffee basket with rusks is delivered to guests in their tent each morning.

The camp's informal bar, lounge, and dining area are housed in a simply furnished yet beautiful tent, offering an open-air feel that harmonizes with the surrounding environment. Warmth and comfort are provided by scatter cushions, rugs, lamps, gas heaters, and knee blankets. The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is renowned for its delectable dining experience, featuring delicious breakfasts, wholesome picnic baskets, afternoon tea, and hearty three-course dinners prepared by a private chef in a remote kitchen. Guests can enjoy a nightcap in the lounge after dinner before retiring to their cozy beds, or wake up to tea and coffee served outside their tents to start their day. An outdoor fireside seating area near the bar is perfect for clear, still evenings.

Guests can engage in a variety of activities, including long walks on the beach, flower viewing, visits to the nearby lighthouse and bird hide, mountain biking, road trips, picnics, and sundowners. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, reading, playing board games, or simply chilling are great options. All vehicles are parked in a secure parking area close to the tents.
