Description

Ons Karoo Plaas is situated on a small working farm in a tranquil Karoo valley, just off the R323 between Laingsburg, 50 km away, and Seweweekspoort, 23 km away. The property offers an ideal escape from the pace of city and town life. The surrounding valley is exceptionally quiet, with few passing vehicles, normally only explorers following the Rouxpos Route or neighbouring farmers.

Accommodation is offered in 5 glamping units, which include 4 caravans and 1 tent. Each unit is individually furnished and features a kitchen and living area. Every glamping unit has its own garden and outdoor braai facility. The Ostrich Shack and Donkey Shed are dormitory-style rooms with 4 single beds each. Fresh linen and towels are provided. These units share a central ablutions block, which is fitted with showers, toilets and washbasins. Hot water is supplied via gas geysers, and each room has a small stove top for the kettle. A partially covered outdoor yard is available for each unit.

Seven large campsites are also available, each with a grassed section and partial shade netting to create a cooler outdoor area during summer. Separate ablution facilities for men and women are provided, both with toilets, showers, washbasins, and gas high-pressure geysers.

On-site facilities include a swimming pool, guest lounge, enclosed boma, games room, plunge pool, self-catering options, and Wi-Fi. Well-behaved pets are allowed by arrangement. Guests can enjoy on-site activities such as bird watching, mountain biking, and cycling. Free-roaming chickens and other wild birds are also present on the farm.

The surrounding area offers a variety of activities, including wine tasting, game viewing, and exploring historic sites from the Anglo-Boer War, such as the Flood Museum in Laingsburg. Drives can be taken to Seweweekspoort, Calitzdorp, Ladismith, Anysberg, Laingsburg, Bosluiskloof, and more.

There is no mobile phone signal on the farm. Wi-Fi is available for sending WhatsApp messages and emails and is not suitable for uploading photos or streaming music or videos. Coverage extends to most of the units and campsites.
