Orangeview River Getaways
Description
These adjacent cottages share a communal kitchen, as well as a spacious braai and picnic area. Hamerkop Nest is situated on the first floor, with the shared kitchen located beneath it. Hamerkop Nest is furnished with a double bed and includes a private bathroom with a toilet, basin, and shower. Chat’s Rock features two single beds and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a toilet, basin, and shower. Both cottages use an organic septic tank system for waste disposal. A baby crib is available upon prior arrangement. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove, oven, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Filtered river water is supplied for plumbing, and drinking water will be provided. However, guests are welcome to bring their own drinking water if preferred. Built primarily from wood and reeds, Hamerkop Nest maintains a natural aesthetic. As a result, local bats often roost on the exterior walls. While they are harmless and play a crucial role in the ecosystem by controlling insect populations, this accommodation may not be suitable for guests who are uncomfortable with bats.
