Located 50 km from Hopetown on the banks of the Orange River, this peaceful getaway offers a tranquil escape from the hustle of city life. The landscape, clear skies, and river provide a serene environment to relax, surrounded by diverse birdlife, regional flora, and wildlife. Whether for fishing, birdwatching, hiking, botanical exploration, or simply unwinding, this is the perfect place to recharge.

Accommodation is offered in 2 units. Each has its own unique view of the Orange River. Fish Eagle Cottage is furnished with 3 single beds and one double bed, and can accommodate up to 5 guests. It has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, and the toilet is linked to an organic septic tank system for waste disposal. A baby crib is also available with prior arrangements.

Hamerkop Nest and Chat's Rock share a communal kitchen, as well as a spacious braai and picnic area. Hamerkop Nest is situated on the first floor, with the shared kitchen located beneath it. Hamerkop Nest is furnished with a double bed and includes a private bathroom with a toilet, basin, and shower. Chat’s Rock features two single beds and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a toilet, basin, and shower. Both cottages use an organic septic tank system for waste disposal. A baby crib is available upon prior arrangement.

The Orange River offers diverse fishing conditions, with a rock weir creating slow pools for bait fishing and faster rapids for fly fishing and spinning. All fishing is catch-and-release, with photos. Species include yellowfish, barbel, carp, and mudfish. Guided tours are available by arrangement. Birdwatchers will enjoy the area’s 99 recorded species, including fish eagles, hamerkop pairs, blue cranes, kori bustards, secretary birds, and various LBJs. The farm features habitats from Nama Karoo, Grassland, and Savanna biomes, with abundant wildlife visible on foot or by vehicle. The farm’s trails are ideal for hiking and cross-country biking, offering a peaceful environment for relaxation. Clear skies and no light pollution provide stunning views for stargazing, especially of the full moon and sunsets over the river.
