House Rules

Stay@79 is a double-storey home with a balcony accessible from the upstairs living area – perfect for enjoying a quiet coffee or scenic view.

Most of the house, including all bathrooms, is tiled. Guests are advised to take care, as tiles can be slippery when wet.

The bathtub in the downstairs en-suite bathroom is particularly slippery. Please use extra caution when using it.

Guests are welcome to use the house’s security system. Instructions for arming, disarming, and proper use will be provided by the host.

Swakopmund is situated in a desert area, and water is a valuable resource. Guests are kindly asked to use water sparingly and with care.

All air conditioners, electrical devices, and lights should be switched off when leaving the house to help conserve energy.

The house includes two fully equipped kitchens and one kitchenette inside the main house, as well as a separate kitchenette in the flat.

Fire extinguishers are stored in all kitchen cupboards – guests are encouraged to familiarise themselves with their locations.

White kitchen countertops stain easily, especially with red wine or other dark liquids. Please clean up any spills promptly.

Guests are asked to keep all kitchen areas tidy and return any used items to their original places.

Guests are requested not to use the white towels for removing make-up. Grey face cloths are provided for this purpose.

All fish scales, heads, and intestines must be placed in a plastic bag and disposed of in the outside bins.

After using the fish cleaning area, please rinse it thoroughly and wash it with soap to prevent odours and insects.

Rubbish bins are collected on Friday mornings. Guests are asked to place the bins outside on Thursday evenings.

Do not dispose of hot coals or ash in the bins. Allow them to cool completely before discarding to avoid a fire hazard.

Please dispose of waste responsibly using the provided bins.

Vehicles may only be washed in the designated wash bay area.

After washing a car, any sand should be rinsed into the drain to prevent it from accumulating.

Guests are welcome to use either of the two indoor braai areas.

No drinks or glasses are allowed on or near the pool table.

Children may not use the pool table unsupervised and must be accompanied by an adult if they wish to play.

Guests are asked to take care when using the stairs, especially in the evenings.

Bathroom floors may become slippery when wet – please be cautious.

Guests use the property and facilities at their own risk and are requested to act responsibly and with care.

No furniture, décor, or household items may be removed from the property for outdoor use or personal outings.

Noise levels should be kept down after 22:00. Guests are kindly asked to respect the neighbours and help maintain a peaceful environment.

Stay@79 was created with care and attention. Guests are asked to treat the home and its contents with respect.

Any damage should be reported so that it can be addressed timeously.

Shared areas should be kept clean and tidy for the enjoyment of future guests.
