Description

Tenahead Mountain Lodge is a secret gem in a secluded region in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Nestled along the border of Lesotho, the spectacular lodge is situated 2500 m above sea level and is surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Drakensberg, Witteberg, and Maluti Mountains.

Accommodation is offered in Luxury en-suite rooms. Each room is furnished with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The rooms are equipped with a stocked bar fridge, tea- and coffee-making facilities and DStv. The rooms boast open fireplaces, which are lit throughout the snowy winter, and glazed windows that offer panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.

The lodge has 3 lounges, a breakfast room, a main dining room, and a library. All the spacious living areas of the lodge are warmed by open fireplaces and have been stylishly decorated. There are 2 wooden decks where lunches and sundowners can be enjoyed, weather permitting. Other facilities include a stocked wine cellar and South African cuisine with Asian and European married with local heritage served.

A nature lover's Eden, Tenahead is home to many antelopes and smaller animals, including lynx, jackals, rock rabbits, amphibians, reptiles, and over 300 species of birds. The hills and valleys are a cornucopia of wildflowers, and at night, the skies are spangled with millions of stars. Tenahead winters are crisp with snow blanketing the ground; the summers are fresh with possible thunderstorms.
