The Ancient Copper Shed offers comfortably furnished self-catering accommodation with views of a game farm and is located 10 km from Potchefstroom in the diction of the Vredefort crater.

Guests can book the 4-sleeper, thatched-roof Sumer, or the 5-sleeper Egypt, which is complemented by the expressions of the hidden treasures of ancient Sumerian and Egyptian history.

The Sumer unit consists of a bedroom furnished with a king-size bed, as well as, a loft fitted with 2 three-quarter beds. These rooms share the use of a bathroom with a shower and a bath, and for convenience, towels are provided. An outdoor warm-water shower is available in the lovely garden. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a microwave, a gas stove, a fridge, ice make, pots and pans, as well as cutlery and crockery. Guests can relax in the lounge which has a cosy fireplace, or on the verandah and enjoy the views. This unit also boasts a private boma. There is also a designated area for pets.

The 5-sleeper Egypt comprises a bedroom furnished with a king-size bed, as well as, a loft with 3 three-quarter beds, and a private bathroom with a shower and a bath. Towels are provided for convenience. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a gas stove, a microwave, a fridge, ice maker, cutlery and crockery, as well as pots and pans. Guests can relax in the lounge which has a cosy fireplace. Guests can also relax on the verandah. An outdoor warm-water shower is available in the lovely garden, called the Garden of Eden, has a boma and is surrounded by edible herbs. A fenced area is available for pets next to this unit.

Pets are welcome with prior arrangement, and please note that there is a short gravel road leading to The Ancient Copper Shed. The road is maintained and suitable for any sedan vehicle. Wood for the fireplace and boma can be purchased on site.

Potchefstroom is an academic city on the banks of the Mooiriver, roughly 120 km from Johannesburg and 45 km from Klerksdorp in the North West Province, and offers a variety of attractions such as the Goetz Fleischack and Potchefstroom and President Pretorius and Totius House Museums, various national monuments, OPM Prozesky Bird Sanctuary with over 200 different bird species, and Buffelsvlei Wild Animal Park.
