Love the Karoo. It's a lovely place. Even though the owner lives in a house next door, it was still very quiet and they were keen on our privacy. The place is well appointed and innovatively decorated with a rustic style. There are four different outside seating areas, each with its own flavour, excluding the hammock. A lot of thought went into it. I can't recommend the olive and rosemary bread more; at home, we would have ordered it weekly. The landscape is beautiful with all the surrounding hills and little intricate flowering plants as only the Karoo can deliver. Despite fairly dry conditions for the river, there was a lot of birdlife around the cottage and I recorded 55 species on the farm overall over two days; there is a hotspot on eBird for the list.

Tranquil setting, breathtaking scenery, and warm hospitality. We had a wonderful stay at The Studio. The cottage strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. It’s equipped with all the essentials, the views are absolutely breathtaking, and the homemade bread is the best we’ve had in ages.

Perfect Klein Karoo escape. Wow! The landscape makes you feel peaceful tranquility and buzzing with excitement to explore. It's stark, vast, epic, awe-inspiring, real, raw. Perfect for a few days (or a lifetime!) of sitting still, stargazing, listening to birds, slow walking, and explorative hiking. Lizelle is a great host and has made a place we can't wait to come back to.

This cottage will see me again. Nice and quiet. All inside and around the dwelling was in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment. The ceramic pot fireplace in the living area was the place to be during the cold evenings. The freshly baked bread awaiting our arrival was heavenly.
