Description
Tintswalo Scops Rest is a private luxury bush villa set in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger region in South Africa. Designed for exclusivity and comfort, the villa accommodates up to 8 guests and is perfectly suited for families or small groups seeking a secluded safari retreat. Guests enjoy the dedicated service of a private butler and chef, full-board hospitality with a stocked minibar, and 2 daily safari activities in a private game drive vehicle.
The villa features spacious living areas, a large patio, a private swimming pool overlooking the wilderness, and operates entirely on solar power. This luxurious villa features 4 bedrooms, each with king-sized beds that can be split into twins, and en-suite bathrooms with showers. An external bath is also available for a more indulgent experience, including 2 larger suites with fireplaces, a wheelchair-friendly room, and the option of an interleading children’s room. A dedicated suite is also available for a private pilot or guide. Each suite has its own patio, air-conditioning, a minibar, and tea and coffee facilities.
For those seeking something different, 2 secluded treehouses can be booked separately, located 30 to 40 minutes from the lodge, offering a unique way to immerse in nature.
The property is well-equipped with a viewing deck, an outdoor boma with a pizza oven, a spa, a fitness centre, and a TV projector screen. Activities include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles with advanced equipment such as binoculars and thermal cameras, sound safaris, guided bush walks, children’s programs, stargazing, and traditional boma dinners. Shangaan trackers accompany the guides, sharing local stories and traditions. Additional experiences, such as rhino de-horning or helicopter flights over the reserve, can be arranged at an extra cost.
The reserve spans 9,000 hectares of exclusive traversing, with 12,000 hectares in total, 20 km of river frontage, and a 70,000 sqm dam that attracts hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife. Despite being in the Greater Kruger, the property is situated in a low-risk malaria area and is protected by an electric fence.
Tintswalo Scops Rest is accessible by a six-hour self-drive from Johannesburg, or by air to Hoedspruit, with transfers available from the airport or a nearby private runway.
