Zwakala River Retreat is nestled on a family farm, perched high amidst the breathtaking Magoebaskloof Mountains in Haenertsburg. This serene and picturesque destination offers a perfect escape for those seeking tranquillity and natural beauty.

Accommodation is provided in a variety of units, each furnished with comfortable beds and a bathroom fitted with either a shower or a bath. Some units lack electricity, using candlelight, lamps, hot water from a donkey boiler, and a fire for a romantic and cosy atmosphere. For guests who require electricity, there are options like the Farm House, the Barn House, and the newly constructed Scandinavian-inspired River Cabins, all connected to the power grid.

The retreat also features a camping site, Kholo’s Campsite, located 800 metres from the cabins.

On the premises, visitors can find an award-winning craft brewery that proudly serves an array of natural and delicious beers. Moreover, for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, the onsite River Spa offers a diverse range of treatments utilising South African natural products and locally sourced oils and herbs.
