"Elgin and Grabouw are seriously underrated. There is quite a bit to do in this area, and it boasts some of the best wines in the country. Perfect place to go if you are looking for a wholesome, small-town feel. Most of the lodges or guest farms have a lovely English/Scottish country feel, and the people are super friendly. Definitely check out the Railway Market (best pizza I've ever had), Paul Wallace Wines, Almenkerk Wine Farm and Peregrine."

"Although Peregrine Farm Stall is becoming a bit too commercialised now the wine farms and location around it are so much more appealing than the normal tourist centres closer to Cape Town - well worth the extra 30 minute drive."
"The railway market is a must visit, just check opening times. My preferred farmstall is The Orchard where we had a very nice breakfast and took away some really good tarts and cookies. Their wors is excellent too."
