House Rules

Guests should note that items left outside at night may become damp due to the high humidity and condensation, and bean bags exposed to the sun can become very hot quickly. Caution is advised when handling them after sun exposure.

In keeping with the seclusion, tranquility, and surrounding nature of Blue Footprints, DSTV is not installed at the property. A Wi-Fi router with a Vodacom SIM card and an HDMI cable is provided, allowing guests to access the internet and watch streaming services through the TV. The speaker is Bluetooth-enabled, and staff can load data onto the SIM card with a bundle of the guest’s choice.

All linen and a hand and bath towel per guest are provided, but guests are requested to bring their own beach towels. Laundry services are available, with guests required to bring their own laundry powder and softener. Linen is changed twice a week to be mindful of the environment.

Guests are asked to use the walkways provided when accessing the beach to protect the dunes against erosion. The cottage is rented as a whole, with full access granted to guests.

A 4x4 vehicle is required to reach Aloha Estate, and tyre pressure should be reduced by 1.2–1.5 bars. No 2x4 vehicles are permitted on the estate as they cause damage to the roads. The swimming pool has no safety features, and use of the pool and associated amenities is strictly at the guest’s own risk.

Guests should bring beach towels, food and drinks, drinking water, and all items of a personal nature. A refundable breakage deposit is required and will be refunded within 14 days after departure. Late check-out is available on request, depending on incoming bookings, with check-out no later than 15:00.

Staff attend the property in the mornings to make beds and clean dishes, and again in the afternoons. While no tip is compulsory, gratuities are welcomed and appreciated. Staff working hours are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00, with a one-hour lunch break at 12:00, and Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00. Additional hours can be requested for weekdays, Saturday afternoons, or Sundays.

No pets are permitted, and loud music, parties, and functions are not allowed. All guests must comply with the estate rules, maintaining absolute quiet between 22:00 and 06:00. Failure to comply may result in warnings, forfeiture of the breakage deposit, or eviction without refund for any unused nights.

If the property is booked by a group of youngsters, guests under 25 must be accompanied by parental or adult supervision.
