Breakage Deposit

A refundable breakage deposit of R500 is payable directly to the property.

House Rules

The cottage offers a beautiful sea view but does not have direct walking access to the beach. The nearest beach is approximately 7 to 10 minutes away by car.

Pets are not allowed.

The KolKol wood-fired hot tub is usually filled before guests arrive.

Guests are asked to use the same water for their whole stay.

The tub should not be drained as staff will empty it after departure and reuse the water for the garden.

The fire may never be lit unless the water is at least 10 cm above the oven.

Lighting the fire without enough water will damage the oven.

Paper or firelighters should be placed in the oven first.

Small kindling should be added before lighting.

Once the fire has caught, bigger logs may be added slowly, but the oven should not be overloaded.

Heating usually takes about one to two hours.

The water should be stirred with the paddle from time to time to spread the heat evenly.

The tub is ready when the water reaches about 37 to 39 °C, which is bath temperature.

Once the water is hot enough, no more wood should be added.

Guests are asked not to throw water on the fire or remove coals as staff will take care of cleaning after the stay.

Always ensure the water is above the oven before lighting, do not drain or clean the tub, and simply relax and enjoy.
