House Rules

During load shedding, the inverter will kick in; however, you cannot use the toaster, hairdryer, heater, or kettle then. Please note: the inverter's purpose is to provide emergency lighting and that the fridge keeps cooling, however as the cabin is situated on a farm, there is a reliance on farm pumps to create pressure for the water - which means during and just after loadshedding, the water pressure is low, not strong enough to heat the water. Please plan your showering outside of loadshedding times. We will send you the schedule.

Additionally, from time to time, there may be issues with Wi-Fi, especially during escalated loadshedding periods, due to the reliance on the signal from the cell phone tower in this remote area. The area currently does not have a fiber infrastructure to ensure an efficient, consistent internet connection.

The tap water is not drinkable as it is fresh borehole water, but there is fresh bottled water available for you.

No extra guests - sleeping over or visiting.

Please be respectful of the people who live elsewhere on the farm.

Please keep noise to a minimum as this is a peaceful lifestyle farm.

Indoors is a no-smoking area, but you can smoke outdoors on the patio.

Initial charcoal is provided for the Weber grill for cooking purposes. Please do not use the Weber to make a fire.

Initial gas is provided in the gas heater, and there is a spare behind the cabin - should you need mor,e please feel free to have the gas bottle refilled at the nearest gas station.

Please note that the water is heated by means of a gas heater. From time to time, the gas might run out during your stay, and then you will not receive hot water. In this instance, please disconnect the empty bottle behind the cabin and connect to the full spare bottle.

Always arm your cabin when you are not there - arming and disarming work the same way with the code given.

Guests stay entirely at their own risk. The owners accept no liability for any injuries, losses, accidents, or damage incurred during the stay.
