Comrades Marathon
Description
The Comrades Marathon is an iconic ultramarathon of approximately 88–90?km held annually in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, alternating between Pietermaritzburg and Durban each year. Starting in 1921 to honor fallen World War I soldiers, it's now the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon, attracting around 23,000 runners who tackle challenging terrain—including the legendary “Big Five” hills—all within an 11–12 hour cutoff, embodying endurance, camaraderie, and the spirit of ubuntu.
