Description

Struisbaai Beach is a lovely beach in Struisbaai, about 2 hours’ drive from Cape Town in the Western Cape. According to legend, Struisbaai is named after its size; which is not surprising as it has the longest natural beach in the Southern Hemisphere, which stretches for a total of 14km in the direction of Arniston.

Struisbaai has a bustling fishing harbour, which hosts the annual Geelstertfees (Yellowtail Festival) where visitors can buy fresh fish. On most days it is easy to launch a kayak and boat, and take advantage of the excellent conditions for board and kite sailing. Other activities include body boarding, surfing, swimming, fishing, visiting the lighthouse, hiking, boat trips and more.
